DIY Measuring Guide

Correct measurements when considering ordering new windows for your DIY project is key to making the replacement process seamless.
Be sure to measure from the surface of the jambs of your window and not from the parting beads or trim pieces. Both will be removed when the window is removed.

Measure as precisely as possible and measure within 1/8" inch in your measurements.
Are my windows square and what does it mean?
Making sure that your windows are square will allow you to determine what other materials may be needed to install your new windows. For the window to be square you want make sure that each corner is 90 degrees and equal length diagonally, from corner to corner. If you find your window is not square, be prepared to add shims and making minor adjustments to the rough of the window opening once the old window is removed.
